fit4internet was initiated by the Federal Ministry for Digital Affairs and Economy in Austria. It is organised as a non-profit association and acts in close cooperation with companies, institutions and organisations as a platform for increasing digital literacy. The structured implementation of DigComp AT offers employees and employers a common understanding of digital competences. It allows to evaluate digital competency profiles through assessment tools and to qualify accordingly through qualification offers referenced to DigComp AT. A national certification system for digital competences is currently developed by the Digital Competency Hub run by fit4internet, in close collaboration with scientific institutions and Austrian ministries. As founding member of the Alliance for Digital Skills and Jobs in Austria fit4internet also leads various projects to understand how digital upskilling efforts can be scaled at cost-/resource-efficiency.
