
After studying law and working as a legal practitioner and tutor in Münster, he entered the Federal Ministry of the Interior in 1998.
Since then he held several positions including:
head of office of the State Secretaries Zypries and Wewer,
head of the division in charge of Information Society and E-Government in the office of the Chief Information Officer,
Deputy Director-General for Administrative Modernization and Administrative Organization,
and head of the Directorate-General for Digital Society; Digitization in Public Administration and Information Technology at the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community.
Since June 2020 he is head of the newly established Directorate General “Digital Administration; Management of the Online Access Act” in the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community.
