Basanta is a researcher at the Competence Center Public IT (ÖFIT), a German government think tank on the digitalisation of government and society, and pursues a PhD at the University of Potsdam. He studied political science, public administration, and economics at the universities of Münster and Potsdam and worked at research institutions such as Hertie School of Governance, the European Research Center for Information Systems and Tallinn University of Technology. He founded the N3GZ Young Professionals’ Network on Digital Government within the German National Competence Center for eGovernment.
Moreen is Professor for E-Government and Open Data Ecosystems at the University of Lübeck (Institute for Multimedia and Interactive Systems). She is also scientific director of the Joint Innovation Labs in Lübeck, where innovative solutions for the public sector are designed, developed and evaluated in close cooperation between science, public administration and business.
She conducts research on human-centred and process-oriented applications in the public sector. These include a wide range of e-government applications, but also applications in the context of open government.
Christian is the Chief Innovation Officer in the Joint eGov and Open Data Innovation Lab (JIL) as well as in the software and digital consulting company MACH AG.
From 2003 till 2018 he was the Federal Executive Secretary appointed by the Austrian Government for eGovernment and Spokesperson of the Federal Platform Digital Austria. Christian was also the Plenipotentiary for eBusiness and SME Digital of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber for many years.
He is considered to be one of the pioneers of developing eBusiness and eGovernment Strategies in Europe. Christian is an Executive Board Member and founder of the UN framework organization World Summit Awards, and is also serving other boards, like the National eGovernment Competence Centre in Berlin.
He has advised more than twenty governments worldwide, organizations and corporations (like the European Commission, Council of Europe, European Investment Bank, the World Bank or Chamber Organizations) on digital transformation and innovation.
Christian is frequent lector at international universities, panelist and speaker as well as program committee on the most prestigious ICT conferences worldwide on topics such as digital transformation and strategies, innovation and disruption, Smart City, Data Governance and eGovernment.
